Indeed, boot.log file is on sda7 partition and you need to mount it first.

So do
Code: Select all
mkdir /sda7
mount /dev/sda7 /sda7
cat /sda7/boot.log
Otherwise there is another file with install information, post also its content
Code: Select all
mkdir /sda5
mount /dev/sda5 /sda5
cat /sda5/installer.log

So fvdw-sl install is clean :thumbup
But you have an issue with your DHCP server
Code: Select all
LAN IP address: 169.254.5.148 (static - random)
The nas fails to get an IP address from your LAN.

It seems your subnet is 172.16.60.xxx. So you need to have a DHCP server on it

Thanks Jocko,

i've installed DHCP Server on my machine (Windows 7) - http://www.dhcpserver.de/cms/

I've booted NAS again, my dhcp server is running (172.16.60.1 - 172.16.60.254) and NAS ip is 169.254.63.36 (static - random) . Don't connect !!!

It's so crazy ;-)

Thanks in advance.

Why did you install a DHCP on your laptop ?
If it was required that would mean your router (ISP box ?) does not have this feature ?

Can you please describe your LAN (how your nas and your latop are connected : switch, hub, router,...)

Did you try by disabling the firewall on your laptop ? Maybe some rules block requests sent by the clients (for example your nas)

Hi Team,

at last my NAS connect !!! Thanks for your time and help !!!!

NAS has only one disk. I want to add four disks. How could i configure RAID 5 with one + four disks ?

Firmware installed is fvdw-sl 17.0 (5big1), are there any update or patch ?

Again, thanks in advance !

Ok

We will try to use a static IP.
With the attached file, NAS IP will be 172.16.60.10 and I assume the laptop's IP is 172.16.60.1

1/unzip the attached file in the folder tftp (where are the standalone kernels)
2/ get a telnet access
3/ backup the current nas database
Code: Select all
mkdir /sda5
mount /dev/sda5 /sda5
cp /sda5/etc/nas_conf_db.xml sda5/etc/nas_conf_db.xml.backup

4/ download the current conf file
Code: Select all
cd /sda5/etc
tftp -l nas_conf_db.xml -r nas_conf_db.xml.dynamic -p ip-pc
(where ip_pc is the ip address of your laptop, should be 172.16.60.1)
You should have now a file nas_conf_db.xml.dynamic in the folder tftp on your laptop
Do only the last commands if you succeeded the backup commands
5/upload the conf file
Code: Select all
cd /sda5/etc
tftp -l nas_conf_db.xml -r nas_conf_db.xml.static -g ip-pc
chmod 777 /sda5/etc/nas_conf_db.xml
(where ip_pc is the ip address of your laptop, should be 172.16.60.1. Please to note, the flag used is now '-g' instead of '-p')

Then restart the nas and see if you can load the web interface with the url
Code: Select all
http://172.16.60.10

Note: if I understand your config, your laptop is not on a LAN :scratch and you try to create a LAN by using only a switch (a switch is not a router)

---edit---
what do you mean with
at least my NAS connect !!!
if you refer to the connection via fvdw-sl console, it is not enough !
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
