you could try our fvdw-sl console
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1271It runs under windows on your PC and it will enable you to upload a "standalone" kernel to your 5big1 (assuming you did not modify u-boot that takes care of initial boot process). This kernel runs fully from RAM so it will not use the disks but it can be used to exolore any disk in the device and to install our firmware or also the lacie firmware.
For the 5big1 you need a dedicated standalone kernel, it is in the attached file.
Unpack the zip archive and put the kernel in the tftp folder of the fvdw-sl console (that means in the folder were you installed the fvdw-sl console you will will find a subfolder with name tftp, put the kernel there.
Connect you 5big1 to the lan but keep it switched off. Start the fvdw-sl console and choose load and start standalone kernel as action.
A window will pop up asking you the select the kernel to load (UIMAGE-26394-NWSP2CL-5BIG1-33-standalone) and follow the rest of the instruction. (There is more detailed info in the help menu's of the the fvdw-sl console.
Only start the 5big1 when the the fvdw-sl console is ready to detetc it (waiting for u-boot)
If the standalone kernel runs and you can connect to it with the telnet client we can continue to the next step.
