why not ? (is it full...)

No, it's not. It's just a problem between my providers modem/ router and the LaCie NIC.
I'll try loading the firmware using a wire. And if that's not working, I'll use another switch to create a temporary network.
When I succeed in loading the firmware, I'll use the web interface to change the network settings to run in my regular home network...

ok if that doesn't work we can load a standalone kernel that has net console support to see on the u-boot command window what it is happening when the kernel is starting and were it stops.

If you use the installer again first delete the partition table

Is there a Marvell command to erase the partition table?
Or should I load the kernel and use fdisk?

I would like a standalone kernel with net console...
I have connected the NWSP2 to another modem/ router. After loading the kernel I can't connect to it using telnet. So I would like to see what happens after boot and how the net interface is configured and if it's able to obtain an ip address.

Would it be possible to configure a static ip address using the net console?

No there is no Marvell>> command in U-boot console to erase partition table you must use fdisk (assuming it is ms-dos partition table)

If you loaded the kernel from sda6 then indeed you will not have telnet access. The standalone kernel has a telnet server build in, the standard firmware kernel not.
But if we fire up the standalone kernel and contact with telnet we could write a default database to your disk with a static ip address setting, let me know which ip address you want to set

So that means loading the kernel using tftp and then access the NWSP2 using telnet?
Because of the ip address issue, I can't get telnet access yet...

I tried using the dhcp command from the marvell prompt, but that seems to stall.

No, I did not load it from sda6. I loaded it from tftp and started it with mboot.
I would like an ip address in the 192.168.2.x range. Something like: 192.168.2.15...
