Yes, some code adaptation and test are needed...

Note : about web-interface, currently the resource used by the apache server is low for small NAS.

So in the setup menu, change the memory level used (enlarged level)

If you won't use in future webdav, web-explorer or some media server, I advice you to go back to the normal level.

(In france : 45 holidays and ~8 free days :vhcool )

:disapprove that wil change in future I guess when the banks get "junk" status in France.

In the Netherlands we have 25 holidays + 6 public holidays a year. But you can buy some more if you want that is then subtracted form your salary

But I think the French are more productive in the time that they work compared to Dutch and Italian. So they need less time then we to do the same ;)

@Draftmancorp, how long is a working day in Italy (excluding time taken for lunch and siesta)...5 hours ? :whistle

....I know, 10 ours is a long work day, and i am just a Graphics clerk, for the honest justice I have to work 8 Ours Max a day.But i work like factory worker. the same ours and the same salary....and i Don't Know WHY, here the situation is always worse....i know that in America a simple graphic clerk can collect up to 2.400$ for a free ours work. provided he ends his orders.

here I collect 1200€ net for 10 ours a day with 30 minutes lunch......you can imagine what I eat :dry .....one pocket of cracker every lunch.(and of course, my colleagues too, but they do a different work in the company)
....I have creativity (i think) and some willpower......but Italy breaks the wings to all....is no more a country for live together with a family.

for sure you have will power , otherwise you would have give up with this nas earlier ;) and I saw your work on the internet and it looks very nice so creativity is ok as well. The problem is probably not sufficient work in that field in the area where you live.

Hi Draftmancorp

To be serious some more tests... :twak

To validate if a binary will be usefull for updating disks database, could you test it and post several outputs?

First unzip the attached file in your public share and in putty do these commands:
Code: Select all
cp /share/1000/public/lsscsi /usr/sbin
chmod 755 /usr/sbin/lsscsi

Now plug an external disk in a USB port (best if you can do for each one)

if you have an external disk with an esata port, plug in it on the esata port of your 5big2

then goto putty, and do these commands
Code: Select all
lsscsi -H
lsscsi -t
lsscsi -lvg

and thank to post their output

The Statistic mean that the nord Italy (where I live) is the most working zone...I know this too, because I can see this. Instead, south Italy that is a very crisis land, is full of families without work...you can see the State give work and home to african immigrants first, and then to italian citizens (this is a big Case discussion in this period) the immigrants have more importance that italian themselves. The companies hire the immigrants because they are content to 900 € per month. and Italians lose their job. I cant understand why this continue to happen...it will lead us to ruin....
in the News, you can see every day more italian suicides because there is no work. and a man without work, is not a man...

a family without a work, can't live. Berlusconi is not the only mass creator here. every italian political collect over 10.000€ per mounth...i can't beleave this injustice.

- this don't delete any files right?
- for second commands about USB and sata, can i connect any external formatted HDDs i have at home?
- *(best if you can do for each one) are you mean each USB port right?
