USB port on the front side is working for connection of external usb disks etc to the nwsp2 but you are referring to the usb port on the back that could be used on the original firmware to connect the nwsp2 to a pc and act as a usb disk. And you want to have that feature again.
Unfortunate I could not discover yet how lacie implemented that. It must be some specific software as that usb port/hub is not detected by the kernel. But I did not give up yet :D One day that secret will be discovered as well.
Sorry to keep you waiting

Is this the same as the network space max? Or is that a different device?

The nwsp2 max is a different device, the kernel I compiled (2.6.33.1) only supports the nwsp2 on this moment, I saw in the more recent release of the vanilla kernel the setup for the nwsp2 also includes support for the nwsp2 max. But as said it is not yet included in our kernel. On the to do list...

Thanks for the reply. I'll be looking for your release on that.

works great, i use minidlna and transmission!
the power led function didn't work for me, but i don't care the blue led is stylish
Also, it would be nice to have a backup feature or cronjobs

Thank matigev for your feedback.

In the next released two new menus will be added: :P
- Cron (see the topic: "New Cron web interface in the next release")
- Backup (rsync). For this, tests are still needed ...
