well a small donation would be nice (e-mail see release notes) we can use it to pay at least some cost for keeping the site up.

Spins down, spins up again almost instant

what is the time interval after it initiate a spin down and what interval is set in the firmware ?

I've tried different intervals.
Currently using 5minutes.

Time interval after spindown is about 5-10 seconds before it spins up again.

It spins down after 5 minutes.
When it is done spinning down (it spins down completely), it waits 5-10 seconds, and spins up again.
In these exact timings, over and over again.
This happens with and without LAN cable connected.
So it is not a problem with our network.

well my two nwsp2 , also the one now with a 3 TB spin down as stay in that state when not accessing it
So I don't know what you are running on the NAS that causes this :dontknow

There are ways to figure out what might cause this but I forgot how, need to look it up again, and currently will give this no priority because I can not reproduce the problem

Noob question: Is that available for download, or do I have to extract it from the fvdw 14 update file?

which kernel do you need ?
ps the kernel number is different from version of our firmware (fvdw-sl-14-0 includes kernel 57). You can subtracted from the firmware the bin file is a bz2 compressed archive.

But alos kernel UIMAGE-26394-nwsp2CL-51 includes GPT support, that can be downloaded here viewtopic.php?f=7&t=336

I'm just running fvdw 14 with kernel 57.
Nothing special...

And i'm using the exact same drive as you.
So, kinda odd that you don't have the same problem.
