Hurray.
Flashed again (flashed it back to original yesterday to be sure).
Checked everything, and rebooted.

Succes!

How can i verify that the flash is successful before preparing my HDD?
Thanks a lot, will do some testing today.

I was thinking.
Maybe it is possible to make a page in the network interface where the new UBoot 59 firmware and Uboot binary can be installed with some standard command lines.
If you take the Uboot-new.bin of 500kb and flash that instead of the 449kb bin, we can easily check if they are the same.
If they are the same, a reboot follows.
If they are not the same, try flash again, or reflash the old .bin

I hope you understand what i mean.
This can be a pretty waterproof way of flashing the nwsp2.
Only challenge will be stop the flash when somebody tries it on a Lite (so classic flash only).

You already did by reading the content of the flash and thats the new one, and it boots, that means it is ok.
I am sure it will recognize a disk with GPT partion table as I tested it ;)

Thanks for suggestion how to implement it :thumbup

Now make you 3 TB disk ready and do the final test

Sorry for the wait.
We have family here and they don't like it when i am busy with the pc all the time.

Anyhow, busy with partitioning the drive.
What program do you use to partition the disk?
Fdisk won't do it for me.
The linux disk utility says that the partitions i make are mis aligned etc.

Any tips?

Btw use firmware 11 with uboot 59?

I used gdisk (compiled it myself ) and i did the job using my nwsp2, I connected the usb/sata interface to it, yes I have two disks.
gdisk is very easy just create 8 partitions giving size instead of cylinders or sectors. It does the alignment itself it say but I used a disk with logical and physical sector size of 512 Bytes.

You can use fvdw-sl-11 with UIMAGE 59

Mis alignment must be avoided, otherwise you run again in performance reduction

Hmm, okey.
Making gparted/gdisk live cd now.
My problem is indeed that i can't use usb/sata interfaces because of the 4096Bytes sectors.
