Hello all (hi Jocko).
It's me again, but this time I'm reporting a worrying problem.
On my 2Big 4TB NAS with "fvdw-sl firmware version 18-3," you gave me a solution to resolve (not without difficulty on my part :doh ) a fan issue that was running at 100% for no reason.
This issue seemed resolved, but caused a curious malfunction :thinking .
I'm 99% sure that this is the source of my problem because by restoring the backup in (System Management, Configuration, Restore NAS Configuration), which I (for once :-D ) had the foresight to do before fixing my fan issue, everything is back to normal!!
The problem is that my 2Big NAS won't start if the RJ45 cable is connected!
Flashing continuously (front button and disk LEDs, fan at 100%, no access even in U-Boot).
It boots normally ONLY if, before power on, i unplug the RJ45 cable and only plug it back in after the boot and the disk LEDs have stopped flashing and the fan has stopped!!
I do have a UPS, but it's very annoying in the event of a power outage (frequent in my neighborhood, especially in the summer) when i'm away.
I have been making the test every day for the past week. BEFORE the parameter in the "Alias command" window of: "htemp='for i in a b;do /usr/sbin/hdstatus-spd sd$i;done'" completely eliminates this anomaly (not for the fan :lmao ) !!
That's my problem.
But hey, nothing serious in itself. The fan sometimes at 100% for no reason, but it's less problematic than the boot of my NAS.
Have a good end of summer.
