Slow transfer speed over LAN

Slow transfer speed over LAN

Postby radc2019 » Sat Nov 09, 2019 7:48 am

Dear team, I have just installed the new firmware on a Network space 2 and is offering so much features than the original firmware. I have 2 questions however:
-Transfer speed over LAN and using SMB is only 14-15 Mb, with the original firmware it was 30 Mb
-FTP is enabled but the device is not responding to ftp requests
Is there anything that can be done? Are these features reserved only to donors?
Thank you!
Best regards,

Speed depends on several things.
If you want to try something on the Samba server, use native samba version (3.0.37) in the settings.
I found out under Win10 that the speed is much better vs. Use samba version (4.9.4) copying many small files.

Thanks! I am using native 3.0.37 (version 4.9.4 cannot be saved even if I select it) and Windows 10. The disk is connected in the same Gigabit switch as my PC and I am trying to copy large files to my La Cie disk.
fvdw-sl is version 18.2

I don't need samba 4, I have patched my Windows 10, but it will increase my transfer speed if I upgrade? Another interesting thing, I was able to start the FTP server, and over FTP I am able to copy with 18-21 Mb so it looks like a limitation somewhere
