Hi Fuddyduddy,
I am sorry but I do not follow you... why do you use fvdw-sl console ?
you just need to use the shh access to get a shell session
Fail: can not upgrade the firmware(502)
=> Firmware upgrade step 2 started:
Firmware package manually uploaded
Unpack firmware package...(please wait)
Fail: uploaded file does not have a valid format
because no requirement to open an SSH session arose. Does that mean I unknowingly missed-out a step?you just need to use the shh access to get a shell session
Version 16.11. Which version of the firmware are you currently using
Yes; fvdw-sl-16.1-upgrade-patch-21dec2018.zip(fvdw-sl-16.1-upgrade-patch-21dec2018.tar)2. Did you install a roll up patch , and if so which one?
fvdw-sl-18-1-console-firmware-upgrade-v2-29jul19_zip-part1.rar3. Which file did you use in the manually upload in your last attempt to upgrade the firmware?

Oh that one. I should have thought it was obvious that I must have misunderstood the "Firmware upgrade menu" page - which believe it or not is what happened. Completely stupid I know...hat questions have I not answered?

Does that make us quits? ;)However, I didn't understand thisyou just need to use the shh access to get a shell session
because no requirement to open an SSH session arose.
You are absolutely right. I see clearly now that it was missing that step which must have caused the rest of the problems, and it was a stupid omission on my part. I wrongly assumed that Step5 had been superseded by ver. 18.x having subsequently come out, and that the logical next step had (because of that) become to go straight to installing that latest version. I was wrong, and ought to have known better than to assume anything. So you do not follow the steps of viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3059
Thanks. I remembered wrong and mixed-up uploading the .rar files with how to do the extraction from them: it's the extraction where only the first .rar file has to be pointed-to and the others get extracted as well automatically - right?. Careless of me. :hammerheadYou also have to download all rar files present in this topic and then extract the zip file. It is this last file you have to upload for running a manual upgrading.
