NFS quota?

NFS quota?

Postby bees10001 » Wed Jul 17, 2019 3:02 pm

I know concepts and limitations of using quota in Linux, but curious if there have been any folks using it within fvdw devices. I have a use case where I have a very dumb application which wants to fill up 75% of whatever NFS share I present to it and cannot be controlled from that client side. Enforcing a size limitation on the server side is the only approach for it. Anybody done NFS or SMB/NFS shares in this that show a reduced free space based on quota limit vs. the whole disk?

Quota is supported in the kernel that we use but not implemented yet in our firmware for actual use on samba, Its on the to do list. For nfs it should be possible to use quota options when mounting the share. Need to look into that.
