Newbie in linux

Postby Waikiki728 » Tue Jun 04, 2019 7:43 pm

Hi, I have a Lacie Cloudbox and my old 3 TB hard disc has died.

Yes..I know...It´s sad :elec) ...But I´ve decided to reborn it like Jon Snow..(yes I also think the final of Game of Thrones is really shit..Bran?king?...COME ON :hairpull )...

I have taken one old 1.5tb hard disc formatted in NTFS(I suppose I will loose all my files after this custom firmware installation, but I don't care) and I tried to install the last firmware (17) through the windows console
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1271

But something has gone wrong...

I supone i have chosen the wrong files...can anyone point me in the right direction to choose the right files...? :please

The installation goes wrong when the telnet is finishing after 15 seconds without finding my Nas(I guess that's the problem) :pound

Thanks for all hard job :thumbup :thumbup

Just a few questions, which is the right file standalone kernel for Lacie Cloudbox, and how can I log in in telnet?..

Sorry , I know nothing about Linux, but I´m trying my best..

I am trying to reborn my Lacie though a Windows system virtualized in one Mac...

Thanks

You should use the kirkwood standalone kernel. How to log in in telnet is described in the instructions in the main window of the fvdw-sl console and the help page. But to make it easy for you, the username to be used is "root" (without the quotes) and password "giveit2me" (also without the quotes)
