To load again this module on next nas booting do this command
Code: Select all
sed -rie "s/exit 0/modprobe xhci-plat-hcd 2>> boot.log\\nexit 0/" /etc/init.d/insert-modules.nwsp2
(use exactly this command line and use the double quotes)

and post again
Code: Select all

Maybe a new dmesg output will be informative.

Re: FVDW-SL on a Seagate Personal Cloud - additional steps

Postby Jocko » Thu Jan 31, 2019 6:41 pm

It seems you reboot the NAS. Did you restart the nas after editing the file 'insert-modules.nwsp2'

Please to note you use a ntfs USB key on USB2 and then compare rw speed with your other USB3 key with a FAT partition is not significant as with ntfs partition rw speed will be always slower than on a FAT partition

please to post again
Code: Select all
lsmod

It seems USB3 support is now ok on your NAS.

rw speed on an USB3 should be around 10 times faster than an USB2 if the cpu is enough powerful
