Postby pedro0lx » Sat Dec 01, 2018 5:41 pm

Hi,

I can't activate my wifi dongle on my Network Space 2 because missing driver.

I used the last firmware: fvdw-sl firmware version 17 and my dongle is a chinese comfast Wifi with Realtek chipset - RTL8811AU.

T: Bus=01 Lev=01 Prnt=01 Port=00 Cnt=01 Dev#= 4 Spd=480 MxCh= 0
D: Ver= 2.10 Cls=00(>ifc ) Sub=00 Prot=00 MxPS=64 #Cfgs= 1
P: Vendor=0bda ProdID=a811 Rev=02.00
S: Manufacturer=Realtek
S: Product=802.11ac WLAN Adapter
S: SerialNumber=00e04c000001
C: #Ifs= 1 Cfg#= 1 Atr=e0 MxPwr=500mA
I: If#= 0 Alt= 0 #EPs= 6 Cls=ff(vend.) Sub=ff Prot=ff Driver=(none)

Where I can find the driver and install it?

Could you please help me to get wifi on my Lacie ?

Thanks,

Indeed you can not use your wifi dongle without its drivers. The drivers must be compiled on our the linux environment.
Later it will be easy to load it just use the USB menu to upload the driver. The firmware will automatically use it when you plug in again your dongle.

Do you have its source files ?

But you need to wait fvdw.

Hi I compiled a driver, see attached zip, extract the zip archive and you get a file with name 8812au.ko

In the webinterface use the upload file feature in menu ättached device-> USB Devices

Installing is simple browse to to the location were you stored the file and click the upload file button (or read help for this page in the webinterface)

Let us know if it works :)
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

nops. doesn't work. :(
I uploaded the file, checked thru ssh and the file is on /lib/module/4.6.6 with same permissions like others ko files... Rebooted the NAS but in the webinterface the info is the same - driver=(none).

when module is not listed in lsmod command
do this
Code: Select all
depmod
modprobe 8112au

now lsmod should show something like this
Code: Select all
root@fvdwsl-5big2:/ # lsmod
Module                  Size  Used by

ehci_hcd               39634  1 ehci_orion

and dmesg should show these lines
