No Shares management from Dashboard

Hmmm without ssh access it will be impossible to investigate this further. On nas central guides can be found to enable ssh on 5big2. You could try to accomplish that before consudering the following.
Sometimes a new install of the last OS (yes again) helps to solve this kind of problems. But I am not sure. Further there is in lacie firmware an option to reset the firmware, if I remember correctly, to the one installed by factory. But such an action can also end up in a disaster reading topics on the forum, resulting in a not working nas at all. So before attemping that I would suggest first to backup your data to another device. Just in case it goes wrong

About NFS, it is just another file server. What normally use is the samba server. This is used when accessing the nas for instance via windows explorer. You are probably not using NFS if you don't know what it is ;)

@fvdw

Maybe you should consider this trick to open a ssh access on the port 2222 by using fvdw-sl console :

and
https://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=2&t ... 999#p22999

This trick has been used with success, here: https://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=26& ... 029#p23029

This is the reply fron NAS-Central

As far as I know there is no easy way to enable ssh on firmware 2.2.12.2. A list of known ways can be found here. Unfortunately for you these have all been disabled by now.
In your case I'd use the standalone kernel from plugout.net, use it to manually assemble the raid array and mount it, and apply step 3 to have ssh in the firmware.

Unfortunately I have to work with Lacie Firmware: any other suggestions ?

Thanks

What is proposed is not installing fvdw-sl firmware but using one of our tools to adapt the lacie firmware to enable ssh access on the lacie firmware. If you do not want or can not do that then I do not see further possibilities to help you other the re-install lacie firmware or restore factory settinds and hope that it will correct the issue. As said earlier before doing that I advise to back up your data first as there are stories of non functional nas after performing a restore or reset.

OK

Excuseme, but reading all your replies, I do not clearly found which tool (not fvdw-sl console) you suggest to adapt the lacie firmware to enable ssh access on the lacie firmware.

Thanks

Hi carloph

Mijzelf's post says exactly what I suggested in my last post (http://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=2842&start=10#p26918) : use fvdw-sl console to edit 2 files so that you can have a ssh access.

I think not to understand ... you are writing:

1) what is proposed is NOT INSTALLING fvdw-sl, but using one of our tools

2) open a ssh access on the port 2222 BY USING fvdw-sl console

Question: how to use fvdw-sl console without installing fvdw-sl console ?

Thanks

fvdw-sl console is a tool used on the laptop side.

All information is available, here! (http://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1271)

You are too patient with me: slowly, I'm understanding something :)

Now I'll better study all your suggested topics and, in case of doubts, I'll come back.

NOTE: I have a second copy of all NAS users data on a disk.

thanks again :)

It seems that the second topic you suggested
