MiniDLNA skips folders

MiniDLNA skips folders

Postby hamcloak » Mon Feb 20, 2012 3:43 pm

Hi,

I was using the Twonky media server, but my trial expired. Now i installed MiniDLNA, but i ran into a problem.
MiniDLNA only shows about 40% of the folders that i want to share. My music folder contains 20 folders, and only 6 are shared via DLNA.
Is there any way to fix this?

Regards.

I have seen this before, don't remember if it was with minidlna, but in case folder rights are not set properly that some dlna clients (or server) can not see/display the content. Did you set some sub folders to read only ?
Set all sub folders in your "music" folder to rwx for owner, group and others (777) and try again. To do that you need access it via Putty or winSCP

You must have a minidlna folder, it is create when installing minidlna when using the web interface, without it minidlna can not run :tapfoot

(in winSCP it will have name /share/1000/minidlna in explore you should be able to see it as share, of course you need to set acces right in the file share menu fo user if you wan to view the content.)

I did a check and on my system it shows all folders...see screenshot from a dlna client...

Ok, got that problem solved.
Now back to the original problem.
The log files show me some 'name too long' and 'tags too long' errors.
But the end of the log files show me:
Code: Select all
[2012/02/20 18:31:22] upnpevents.c:357: warn: upnp_event_send: send(): Connection refused
[2012/02/20 18:31:24] upnpevents.c:357: warn: upnp_event_send: send(): Connection refused
[2012/02/20 18:31:26] upnpevents.c:357: warn: upnp_event_send: send(): Connection refused

Is this the problem?

to be honest I don't know, but it looks like that your client has a problem to communicate with minidlna
On my system i can not reproduce the problem and everything works as it should
Maybe deleting the database form minidlna helps
