Change new HD 6Tb in Nas

Re: Change new HD 6Tb in Nas

Hi

For any amazing reason, the new partitions table does have been created :scratch (So we should add a better check on this point...)
As it is a big disk, maybe the script doesn't wait enough time when the disk is unlinked and linked again after deleting the current partitions table

What happens, if you try again to install the firmware

I've tried it multiple times and it will always produce the same error. Is there a way I can manually partition the drive and manually install the firmware onto the disk?

Hi

I go to send you (pm) a new install script with a bigger sleep time on disk link down/up event to see if it is the issue with your 8TB disk

Re: Change new HD 6Tb in Nas

Postby Jocko » Fri Sep 22, 2017 10:58 pm

Hi
:thumbup
So the issue was the sleep time value when the the disk is link up/down.

Except for the data partition (I assume format command failed because there is not enough resource with the big disk to do it), the firmware installation is right. So the NAS should start and you should be able to access to the web-interface.
Then go to the disk setup menu and click on the button "Initialize disks and volumes". See if with the standard environment, you can format sda8.
