ps the uboot command for listing partions is
Code: Select all

But this is of no use as long as it didn't find a disk

well spinning up draws much more power then normal use. if the power supply is not capable to deliver sufficient power it will not start. I had this once with a internet space vs1. Changed the power supply and up it go.
When the disk starts you should be able to hear it doing that.

Still funny that it seems to use ata1, did you put the disk in most left hand slot seen from the back ?

No, i have it on far right. If i put it on far left it uses ata5. I can show you if you want.

Code: Select all
(none) login: root
Password:
root@(none):/ # dmesg | grep ata5
ata5: SATA max UDMA/133 mmio m1048576@0xe8000000 port 0xe8032000 irq 52
ata5: SATA link up 3.0 Gbps (SStatus 123 SControl 300)
root@(none):/ # fdisk -l
root@(none):/ #

I reported this issue between far left/far right and disk order on another thread sometime ago.

Ok I see. Thats a point for later.

So no difference. As you reported the red lights on the back first on one didk and later on more it could be the power supply going bad as possible cause. Also because dmesg doesn't report a failure.
A disk spinning up should be possible to hear. This also should happen when using ide reset in uboot console. If it doesn't spin up then power supply must be checked (exchanged)

I do not have other options what could be wrong

[not sure where...

Look what is written on the power supply. If it is a single connector supplying only one voltage its easy. Any power supply supplying same voltage and sufficient amps would do.
If it is a multi voltage power supply (as with 5big v2) then it is more difficult
