Ok remaons this point:

If you have more then one network card (wired and wireless) in your pc, disable all of them except 1 (the wired connection) and try again

This won't work as your pc and nas are probably using a subnet mask 255.255.255.0
Meaning your pc can only talk to devices having an ip starting with 192.168.1 and your nas with devices having an ip starting with 192.168.3
Why does your nas and pc have not the same first 3 octets of the ip? Did you set a large ip pool on your router. If so, than limit it so all devices in your nas will get an ip starting with or 192.168.1 or 192.168.30
Hope you understand what I mean

What was the error message?
You can try to format the data partition using this command at the command prompt assuming the rest of the installation procedure was ok
Code: Select all
mke2fs-64 -j -m 1 /dev/sda8

We can also format the data partition when firmware is running. For that you need to boot the firmware and connect with ssh client like putty to the ssh server that the firmware is running. The usrename to access the server is : root the password: giveit2me port number is 22, the default used for ssh.
At the linux command prompt give the command
Code: Select all
mke2fs -j -m 1 /dev/sda8

Yessssss :) i did! :hail :hail :hail Thank you so much! :punk
I'm now trying to understand how to share the nas with android tv with kodi like i had before.
I would like to share in samba...i activated it but i can't see yet.
Also on pc i can't see it in network like before....i just see the "public" folder in rapid link but not in network folder.
i also can't see the blue led blinking when i try to transfer files in that public folder despite i have selected the option in the console.
Thanks again for your help :hail

Glad to hear that you make progress ;)

Does the webinterface work?
Be sure that your pc, tv and nas use the same workgroup name. You can set it for your nas in one of the menu's of the webinterface.
In addition you could create a new shared folder using the web interface. There are two types "privat" and "public" and be sure samba acces is selected for that share. In case you create a privat shared folder you have to grant access for each user for thst folder. In case you create a public folder anyone can access it.

yes, i can enter now finally after i solved using commands in telnet you gave me!
I will try it, but i also would like to know if it is possible to change user name to enter inside the webinterface or i can change only password.
And what about the blue led that doesn't blink during file transfer??
Thanks for your precious suggestions

If there is disk activity the led should blink. If not thete is ni disk activity.
The administrator name of the web interface can not be changed. But you can grant users access to a limited part of the web interface (read the help window provide for each menu)
