Rebuild Database?

Rebuild Database?

Postby Benaslan » Sat Jul 16, 2016 10:45 pm

Hey guys,

I accidentaly did this:
"rm -f /*"

to the root folder! :( :( :(

Now it deleted alle files except folders! Is there a way to rebuild? Also I cannot login anymore via Web Console (SSH)!

Does anyone have an idea?

Edit:
I managed to restart it. Now Web Frontend ist not available anymore, see sreenshot. Fortunately I can login via SSH now using PUTTY.

Edit2:
I rebootet via Putty, installed Firmware 16-1 succesfully. Now I do have acces to Web Frontend, but same error line on the top an SHH Web Console saying "wrong password try again"

Edit3:
SHH Web Console: Password got reset to "giveit2me", so now login works here too, whereas the old password also works!

Edit4:
So far only front end seems to have this one error message. Everything else is still working.
That "home.hm" is missing under /usr/htdocs. Maybe I only need to put that file into that folder and the error is gone?

Update:
It's not displaying the error message anymore! I let it sit for a couple of hours and logged in now - no error messages!
So I think this can be closed! ;)

Yes that command is very destructive. Probably you also lost; all files in the shared folders. But as some files still seems to there I think you aborted the command. Otherwise a full install as for new disk would have been required to bring it back to normal operation. If you have no shared files to lose I would do that in any case to be sure that you have a 100% correct system

It's very strange! Everything works fine now, no problems or error messages. It would be a lot of work to transfer my shares back to the Lacie, so ... Let's see if something strange happens again and I'll reinstall.

Thanks anyway!!
