Lacie Cloudbox 3T quick blinking

Postby Bigtoto » Fri Jun 10, 2016 3:39 pm

Hi,

I access my disk with fvdw-sl console using the standalone kernel.
When I type gpt -l /dev/sda, it return the message : Problem error is 6

Is it possible to do something or my disk is dead ?

Thanks for your help.

Don't use gpt as command but
Code: Select all
gdisk -l /dev/sda

Hi,

Thank's for your reply.

Here's what I get when I type gdisk -l /dev/sda : Problem opening /dev/sda for reading! Error is 6.

Post the full output is more helpfull.
What you also can pist is the output of
Code: Select all
dmesg
In that output we can see if the kernel can access the disk. But I am afraud your disk has died

Hi bigtoto,
ata1: SRST failed (errno=-16)
should mean you have a hardware issue either on the SATA controller or on your disk (as I assume it is not a jump issue like you can find on Internet)

You can confirm that by extracting your disk and plug in it on a laptop if you can see its partitions in the disk manager console then it is an issue with your Cloudbox platform.

Hi jocko,

Thank's for your help and quick reply.

I'm going to extract the disk and plug elsewhere.

I'll give you new soon.

Hi,

I don't see the disk in the BIOS and I don't see either in disk manager. I think he's really dead.

Thank's to both of you for help.
