and mencoder version (MEncoder SVN-r34537-snapshot-4.2.3 (C) 2000-2012 MPlayer Team)
Had a ready for some days already but forgot about it

its a binary of 11 MB, this one took also several hours to compile
no idea if it works, I did not test it but it loads and gives some output
You will need to install a library as well to make it run on the nwsp2 and you must make some sym links (see symlinks.txt files) in two directories
The attached zip file contains everything you should need and in which (system) directory to install what

let us know if it works and is a useful tool or not

Thanks I will have a look at it. Mencoder could be very usefull for subtitles transcoding.
I already tried some transcoding using ffmpeg.
I tried transcoding Matroska (.mkv) to DVD (.mpeg) but it is not quick enough.
I only get 1-2 fps. The problem is every frame needs to be resized which takes a lot of CPU power.
But for adding subtitles to a video you don't need to resize frames and you don't have to transcode the audio, so it might work.
I will give it a try and when it works I will put up a guide here how to configure mediatomb.
Thanks again.

I know this is a very! old post, but I hope someone can help me.

I use my NAS mainly to store video files for my video jukebox, but not all content is from good quality so I was very happy
to find a compiled version from MediaInfo for the nwsp2! to examine my content...
Sadly this is an old version and the width and height parameters don't work

My intension is to make a bash file (with MediaInfo) to make a list from all of my video files with the basic information
like videocodec/width/height/bitrate/audiocodec etc. to be able to search for better quality files...

Is there a way to compile a later version from MediaInfo for the nwsp2? and how can this be done, or can someone
help me with to process to compile this on the nwsp2?
