Is it safe to install fvdw using wine emulation on linux?

I own a Cloudbox 3TB and I'd like to proceed with the installation of the firmware as soon as I figure out to have a backup of\reinstall the original Lacie firmware in case I want to rollback.

Anyway I'm running Kubuntu 15.10 64bit and I was wondering if the installers, along with the nas detection tool are safe to use with programs like Wine which essentially emulate the windows environment.
