I did that above. I had figured after I re-red that this is what you wanted me to do.

I stopped the raid and then did the --assemble command but got an error
Code: Select all
root@fvdw-sta-kirkwood:/ # mdadm --stop /dev/md[01234]
mdadm: stopped /dev/md0
mdadm: stopped /dev/md1
mdadm: stopped /dev/md2
mdadm: stopped /dev/md3
mdadm: stopped /dev/md4
root@fvdw-sta-kirkwood:/ # mdadm --assemble
mdadm: an md device must be given in this mode

So you can try now to reboot the nas and see if you can login to the web-interface.

Note: keep empty the 4th slot.

OK, will have to do later when I go home.

But, I have a couple of questions first?

1) Do I just power down via the switch in the back and then assume power back up like normal?

2) I assume that the lacie would load with the original settings (i.e. static IP) as before? If so I will have to pull out another router since the Lacie is on a different segment (192.168.1.60) vs. my lan, which is 192.168.17.x Not a big deal just want to make sure up front.

You can try to reboot the nas with this command in telnet window
Code: Select all
sync;reboot -f

I assume that the lacie would load with the original settings
