new firmware 11.0 installed perfectly

new firmware 11.0 installed perfectly

Postby firwareslut » Sat Jan 07, 2012 3:30 pm

Loving the new firmware! Installed without a hitch.

Will there be any chance of sftp support in a future version?

My Lacie NAS is finally perfect now with this new firmware! I am going to start playing with Twonky 6 next.

All the NFS problems I had before and now resolved with the new firmware. No more hanging up when sending files.
Thank you!

Many thanks for your feedback (fvdw made a great work)

Implement a server sftp is planned but before I want finish the feature "web-explorer" which allows to access any where to your data without no technical settings (just use a browser)

I think finish it at the month end (I'm updating some applets)

After, I look up if I can implement easily a sftp server.

If I must redefine the ftp menus and how the conf file is created, this will take some time but whatever, I think this new feature will be ready around april end (after I'm usually more busy... ;) )

Note : I think also create a menu to manage the export file

wow a new firmware already! great, I will be testing it soon!
I did make some changes in some *.conf files, are they reverted when I upgrade?
Also, it is possible to use USB backport and ethernet at the same time?

Even if the sftp server is installed and working with the root user it would enough for my use at the moment. Obviously all the fancy web menus takes a lot more time to program hehe.

depend which ones, if they are in system directories then they will not be used in the new firmware.
The ones in the shares like twonkymedia, minidlna, transmission etc will remain untouched.

The USB port on the back side is connected to a special share, when it is connected to a PC via the back side usb port then this share can not be accessed via ethernet. When disconnected from back side UB port it will appear as a share via ethernet. All other shares remain accessible via ethernet when the usb port on the back is used and those cannot be accessed via back side USB port. It is implemented in the same way as in the original firmware of lacie.

Works here too, NS2 classic, installation from scratch.
The howto is fantastic!
I used a Knoppix live CD (6.7.1) and started it with "knoppix noswap"

Seems to be an improvement in speed compared with the original fw

many thanks!
