Where do you search the sync folder and how ?
in btsync (app) on your nas, you should see in the size column, files total size and the files number

This is becoming annoying actually. Can't get this thing to operate as expected.

Tried the other way around, not it only syncs some files to the empty NAS folder and not all of them.
Says Out of Sync on the MacBook1.

Tired.

I used FTP to see if there is anything in there. Nothing at that time. Also on the web BT Sync, it says 0.0 everything in size etc.

maybe you should read the log files on the both sides.

On your MacBook I don't know where it is but you find it (sync.log) in the folder /share/1000/btsync on the NAS.

I used FTP to see if there is anything in there. Nothing at that time. Also on the web BT Sync, it says 0.0 everything in size etc.
Please to note that many ftp client uses cache to list the folders content. I'd rather that you use ssh access and ls command; btsync (app) gives the full path of the sync folder.

Restarting everything from jump.
Stopped BT Sync server
Delete /btsync folder
Remove share folder on NAS

Installed Server
--> I can see the /btsync folder by FTP BTW, noticed that before too. Had to go re-save File Share settings for it.
Setup sync
Connected
Now it says No Peers.
Click the Peer list and you see my NAS with an arrow pointing upwards but NAS is still empty by SSH.

maybe something I don't understand:

I assume that you don't select the share btsync as sync folder in the btsync web-interface
btsync share (path /share/1000/btsync) is a technical folder for btsync application and you must never select it as sync folder. Please to note the sync files are not here.

I think we misunderstand us.

This is normal when you install btsync, the firmware create this technical share. Please to forget it. No need to search here some synchronized files.

So you select another folder for synchronizing with your MacBook ? and to avoid speaking in the void which is for you the full path of your sync folder?
