Recently, we detected an issue in accordance with the TLS protocol used by your email provider.

So attached the new version for 16.1.

In putty do
Code: Select all
tar -xf /share/1000/fvdw/fvdw-sl-16-1-mail.tar -C /
(I assume that you stored the tar file in the share fvdw
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

So try to do it manually in Putty
Code: Select all
/bin/echo 'Mailer settings are Ok !'|/usr/bin/mail -s 'mail test' youradmin@email.com
where youradmin@email.com is the email address set to deliver system messages in the menu.

The command worked, although the email was marked as spam in the mailbox. Now, how do I make it run from the Web interface?

:scratch
if it works in Putty, it should do it from the Web interface. Indeed, the test uses the same commandline
Code: Select all
/bin/echo 'Mailer settings are Ok !'|/usr/bin/mail -s 'NAS(yournasname), test send' youradmin@email.com

note: Web interface gets the nas name with this command
Code: Select all
hostname|cut -d . -f 1

This time it doesn't work. The last line when running the command is:

Code: Select all
550 Access denied - Invalid HELO name (See RFC2821 4.1.1.1)

From internet, I read that some ISPs nowadays deny or blackhole emails if no valid hostname. It seems that your ISP does not allow the keyword localhost (or does not succeed to get your WANIP : see the ISP box firewall)

Just for testing can you edit the file mail, and replace the line 60
Code: Select all
echo 'EHLO localhost'
by echo 'EHLO yourpublicIP' where yourpublicIP is the WAN Ip provided by your ISP.

Then check if you can send an email

My ISP specifically doesn't block any port.

Which file should I modify?
