New Btsync version

I tried to upgrade btsync by installing the new binary on the NS2 but it didn't work. Is there a compatibility issue or am I missing something obivous?

Hi firwareslut,

I already tested the last version and I also noted that there are several issues (some system filenames have changed , the web interface doesn't work well,...) and you lose your sync folders settings.

As this version doesn't provide main changes I don't yet deepen this point.

Note: the btsync used by the firmware is a patched version (web interface) so in all case there are issues if you use directly the original binary

Thanks for the info. It still syncs perfectly well even with newer clients so I guess there is no rush to get it updated.

If you don't update the binary, you should need to delete only the share btsync to restore btsync.

Please to note : after upgrading to 1.41 you can not downgrade again.

As version 1.41 doesn't provide main new feature, I plan to update btsync only after releasing version 16.1 where we will be able to manage easily updating for several features.

You can not update manually because you won't succeed to overwrite its web-interface.

So before trying to update it I think it is logical to try to use this one already available on the NAS?

And I claim again there is no issue to use in the same time version 1.41 and 1.12.

be carefull,

Start btsync from the file system is dangerous because you won't have enough space...

and if you use the menu, you still use the old web interface:
You can not update manually because you won't succeed to overwrite its web-interface.

You are a headstrong guy. :pound
and I claim again and again, ... there is no issue to use in the same time version 1.41 and 1.12.If it works on my side, that works on your side...
