LACIE D2 Network 2 Project (2)

This file was useful in another topic. Its goal was to patch the previous firmware package version 16.0 which did not support fully d2nw2.

Yesterday, I updated the firmware package version 16.0 for nwsp2; mwspmax and now d2nw2.

So with the last firmware package version 16.0 (11apr15), this patch is useless and obsolete.

Then upgrade to version 16.0 your nas and check if the platform code is d2nw2 (cat /etc/platform)

indeed there is an issue:
stillversion15.1.jpg
it seems that firmware version is still 15.1!

As you can not upgrade from this version but only from 15.3 you get this error : http://tinypic.com/r/f2v6ro/8

So you must try again to install version 15-3.

As your nas is still detected as a nwsp2 no need to do again the steps
Jocko wrote:So attached a file so that the firmware detects your nas as a nwsp2.
1/ To install it, create a share 'fvdw' (menu share management)
2/ save the tar file in the share 'fvdw'
Attachment:
fvdwsl15-1-fakenwsp2-25mar15.tar [795 Bytes]
3/ open a shell terminal (Putty or via winscp) with these default credentials: login=root and password=giveit2me
...
Code:
cat /etc/platform
You must get nwsp2 as output.

So only at these steps
If it is ok you can install version 15.3
1/ Use the package for platform nwsp2 (as the firmware detects your platform like a nwsp2)http://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1867#p14927
...

up to step 6

So it seems to be clean with your version 15.3.

Now you can again to upgrade to version 16.0 from the firmware update menu.

But after I've done execute firmware to 15.3 what are WebManagement still 15.1 shown or change to 15.3 ?

Because I've check WebManagement after execute 15.3 with putty the version on top lef still 15.1 ..

http://tinypic.com/r/1zyfof5/8

or there is a possibility that my input file 15.3 was wrong?

because when I noticed that the file I have is 31-mar15 but that you provide through the link is 10may2014

What is the ouput of
Code: Select all
cat /etc/fvdwversion
. if you get "fvdw-sl 15.1" that means that :
-either you don't install version 15-3
-or you don't yet reboot the nas

I go to send you a file to shunt the step version 15.3 and allows you to install directly 16.0 as you already tried.

--edit--
attached the file to allow you to install directly version 16.0
1/ save the tar file in the share 'fvdw'
fvdw-15-1-upgradelaciepatch-12apr15.tar

2/ open a shell terminal (Putty or via winscp) with these default credentials: login=root and password=giveit2me
3/ In putty, do this command
Code: Select all
tar -xzf /share/1000/fvdw/fvdw-15-1-upgradelaciepatch-12apr15.tar -C /

4/ (no need to reboot the nas), try to install version 16.0 as you did with the firmware update menu (bin image file) from the web interface.

So install my last attached file and upgrade directly to version 16.0

Note:
I've done execute 15.3 into D2N2 with Putty
that means that you did not make this step
Jocko wrote:1/ Use the package for platform nwsp2 (as the firmware detects your platform like a nwsp2)http://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1867#p14927
use the menu Firmware Update>Firmware.
2/ Reboot the NAS and clear your browser cache
which require to use the web-interface and not Putty.
