Please to note that you didn't yet end the install !
Jocko wrote:Currently the first step is to install version 15.1 which will be done by using fvdw-sl console. (in the next steps, at each step will be install a patch and a new version : version 15.3 and then version 16.0. I will give you later more details).

Currently you have version 15.1 installed and an unknown platform.
You can now restore your lan settings.

Install winscp or putty on your laptop.

- Next step upgrade the firmware with version 15.3
! As there is a bug in version 15.1, 15.3 and 16.0 with some languages
Keep the default language: English

So attached a file so that the firmware detects your nas as a nwsp2.
1/ To install it, create a share 'fvdw' (menu share management)
2/ save the tar file in the share 'fvdw'
fvdwsl15-1-fakenwsp2-25mar15.tar

3/ open a shell terminal (Putty or via winscp) with these default credentials: login=root and password=giveit2me
4/ In putty, do this command
Code: Select all
tar -xzf /share/1000/fvdw/fvdwsl15-1-fakenwsp2-25mar15.tar -C /

5/ reboot the NAS (Yes I know that currently there is no clean method available)

At this step, now you can shutdown and standby the NAS by using the web interface.

To check if it is ok do in Putty
Code: Select all
cat /etc/platform
You must get nwsp2 as output.

If it ok you can install version 15.3
1/ Use the package for platform nwsp2 (as the firmware detects your platform like a nwsp2)http://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1867#p14927
use the menu Firmware Update>Firmware.
2/ Reboot the NAS and clear your browser cache
3/ create again the share fvdw (you should have lost it)
4/ save fvdwsl15-3-fakenwsp2-31mar15.tar to the share 'fvdw'
fvdwsl15-3-fakenwsp2-31mar15.tar

5/ In putty, do this command
Code: Select all
tar -xzf /share/1000/fvdw/fvdwsl15-3-fakenwsp2-31mar15.tar -C /

6/ reboot the NAS (Yes I know that there is again no clean method available to shutdown)

check again if it is ok do in Putty
Code: Select all
cat /etc/platform
You must get nwsp2 as output.

Next step (and last step) will be to install version 16.0

Please to note that all these steps will be useless when we will release a firmware package for d2nw2

Hi musafirrlail,

I saw your other posts but there is something that I don't understand. :scratch

If you did not make the last steps of my previous post, you can tell that it is solved.

but if you did them, a last step must be done : install version 16.0. Yesterday, I updated the firmware image version 16.0 to do it and posted here:http://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2024#p16825

So currently at what step are you ?

Note: fvdw go to update fvwd-sl console package so that it installs directly version 16.0 (and no longer need to do all these steps)

Ok,

I did not understand because I had no feedback from you ;)

So you did all and currently you have version 15.3 and a fake platform 'nwsp2'

Now you need to upgrade to version 16.0 from viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2024#p16825. (version 16.0 - 11 april)

After upgrading (still use the web-interface), reboot the nas and clean the browser cache.

You should see now as platform: d2nw2 when you do cat /etc/platform. The firmware handles now your platform as a d2nw2 and also in the next releases

:thinking Why did you try to use this file ?

I repeat you just need to install version 16.0 and in any case you don't need to use patch file now. (If you'd succeed your commands we go to corrupt the firmware :pound )

So just download the 3 rar files from the link I already posted

absolutely not! you take a wrong way!

I repeat again and again why do you want to install this file?
It is fully useless and we go to corrupt the firmware: you try to install few files of version 16.0 where as you have version 15.3 :pound

So download these 3 files: xfvdw-sl-16-0-nwsp2-11apr2015.part3.rar ;
xfvdw-sl-16-0-nwsp2-11apr2015.part2.rar;
xfvdw-sl-16-0-nwsp2-11apr2015.part1.rar.
from http://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2024#p16825

and from the web interface use only the update firmware menu to install it
