LACIE D2 Network 2 Project (2)

So what next? whether this process should end in other words D2N2 I can not use the firmware of fvdw?

Hopefully this is not bad news not to continue because I need btsync, media server, and root access which allows me to learn about the structure of NAS especially D2N2

Do you have other ideas if the result was broke?

Sorry, maybe I confused you.

Yes fvdwd-sl firmware can be installed on the platform d2nw2 (just follow the install firmware guide).

After installing version 15.1, you will have to do other steps but the first step is to install version 15.1 with fvdw-sl console.

Wait .. wait

You do not have to apologize :disapprove

I think this to be enlightened, but there are still some things I want to ask you, including:

1. Yes fvdwd-sl firmware can be installed on the platform d2nw2 (just follow the install firmware guide).

What you mean ? What do you mean it D2NW2 is D2 NetWork 2 same with my device or different, please explain to me. While the device I have is D2 Network 2 is similar to what you describe (not Network Space2) is not, in other words the device (D2 Network 2) can be entered fvdw-sl-firmware?

2. After installing version 15.1, you will have to do other steps but the first step is to install version 15.1 with fvdw-sl console.

Currently I have not any of the technical execution because the basic concept there are still some things I can not understand the difference D2N2, D2NW2, and NWSP2?

After some information that I think needs to be confirmable ...

Sorry if the question is too basic if it makes you think :please

Ok musafirrlail,

1. For clarity, on my side d2n2 = d2nw2 = D2 Network 2 and fvdw-sl can be installed on this platform (You have just a proof with the topic http://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2136&p=17935#p17935)

2. Still for clarity, nwsp2=network space 2. There are two versions : Lite with only 128MB RAM and Classic with 256MB RAM.
To install the firmware on your d2nw2, just pretend that it is a nwsp2 at the first question when you use fvdw-sl console and follow the install guide.

I think that your disk size is 1TB or 2TB so at the step (11) say that the boot loader does not support GPT partition tables. Currently we don't know if your d2nw2 can support this partition table type. According with some WEB sites, the original LACIE boot loader (uboot) for d2nw2 can not support a GPT partition table (but LACIE uses several uboot versions for a same platform)

So if you follow the guide when you reboot the NAS, you must get the fvdw-sl web interface (step 14). To discover the ip ddress of your NAS you can use the fvdw-sl assistant.

Note: please to switch off your NAS before following the guide!

This explanation gives me insight as to camouflage "Pretend Operation" .. :-D *hehehe*

Well, From the description you give me capture the essence of which is that D2N2 just pretend as NWSP2 to be installed with fvdw-sl-firmware, then from the link you provided I find the firmware file-sl-16.0-d2nw2-08-apr-15, whether it is a compatible firmware files if dinstalasi D2N2 into mine?

And what do you mean by step 11 and step 14, it is in the application fvdw-sl-console if I run it?

I became convinced to impatient immediate execution,

what the worst risks in the installation process fvdw-sl-firmware can make the device can not be used again? or simply to restore the original firmware and can resume operations D2N2 ...

:shocked

Yes but later : you are not at this step.

Currently the first step is to install version 15.1 which will be done by using fvdw-sl console. (in the next steps, at each step will be install a patch and a new version : version 15.3 and then version 16.0. I will give you later more details).

Did you read all docs ? (I was referring to the steps described in the install firmware help)
Jocko wrote:To use fvdw-sl console I advise to read carefully and fully the related topic.
You need also to read the install firmware help: many things are important and if you don't follow the guide you can get a bricked nas.

If you use fvdw-sl console only to install the firmware, there is no risk to get a bricked nas (only need to reinstall the lacie firmware but you already did that). But never try to use the fvdw-sl console to flash the uboot as written previously (in this case there are many chance to get a bricked nas)

I've read the whole post the conclusion that I can just about testimonials from members who successfully install fvdw but I speckle know the detail information of the threads in the execution process.

So, for the first step I need to do to execute what do you think?
Files that exist on the next thread I've also downloaded (32bit + 64bit + sl-firmware)

Is there any detailed information about the execution process within the firmware help?

You simply provide fresh air to me when you said that there are no fatal damage

I assume that you know about your laptop if it is a 32 bits or a 64bits. So install first fvdw-sl console as writing in the fvdw's post
To install it download the 3 rar files of the package of your choice (32bit or 64bits) and extract them in a directory of your choice where you want to install the fvdw-sl-console on your windows pc.
To start the program double click on the file with name "fvdw-sl-console.exe".
It will ask for password, for this version it is the number "33305"
The password protection is useful as with the program someone can easily erase all the data on you nas. In future release the password will be possible to change.

Important: when first using the program in windows and you have a firewall running you must grant access to several programs like tftp nc and clunc-open. Windows will ask for this permission. If you don't grant access the console cannot work.
So I do not see what additional detail do you expect.
musafirrlail wrote:Is there any detailed information about the execution process within the firmware help?
still I don't understand what you expect : there is all required information in the install firmware help file :scratch

From the explanation is what gives me the conclusions presumably contained detailed information on the firmware help

I tried now to execute, and according you I must be turn off D2N2 I have been shutdown, Bismillah, God with Me :!:
