Good afternoon wd9895,

Thank you for this first feedback.

Note: as we changed many files, you might detect bugs even if we tested for several weeks the new version. (just before releasing, we have found a bug !)

networkspace 2 classic - nwsp2 fvdw-sl 15.1

tried installing 16.0 (xfvdw-sl-16-0-nwsp2-30dec2014.bin) but got error message

Firmware upgrade failed, upgrade process aborted, reason:
fw upgrade found platform file firmware package differs from that on running system

- tried downloading / installing in chrome and internet explorer on winxp ... extracted rar files with winRAR and 7zip but always got the same results
- tried to upgrade to 15.3 first but got checksum error (downloaded files twice)

any idea what i might do wrong?

looking at the release notes - 16.0 has got a lot of features i was hoping for :-)

Hi Ossarium,

As now the package is common with nwspmax, you need to install first version 15-3.

Note: I succeeded to download the 3 files of the version 15.3 without issue (and I used my wireless connection).

So you have a problem with your Internet access. If you succeeded to download the files of version 16.0, you have to be able to do it with version 15.3. :scratch

internet connection should not be a problem - got very fast internet running over fast wired lan ....
tried again to upgrade 15.3 on my win7 laptop and am getting the following message now

-----------------------------------
Firmware upgrade process step 1, uploading firmware package

Uploading file started...
File upload failed, firmware upgrade can not continue
Uploaded file could not be renamed, upgrade process can not continue
--------------------------------

where is the uploaded file copied to? looks like there might be an old - locked - file ...

That doesn't mean that the firmware failed to rename the file but uploading had failed (so can not rename it)
Do you try after rebooting as the file is uploaded in /tmp and this one is cleared after rebooting

I updated my NWSP2 from 15.3 to 16.0 without problems.
I like the new update procedure with more information what is happening.

Hi guanabara,

No, with a nwsp2, you need to install first version 15.3
