Lost samba access

Re: Lost samba access

So samba settings are right...

About this error message
Code: Select all
  error packet at smbd/nttrans.c(805) cmd=162 (SMBntcreateX) NT_STATUS_SHARING_VIOLATION
, you can try this:
1/ in the web-interface delete all user accounts
2/ create an account with a new name (not used before) with the wanted share permissions
and see if you have still your issue with this new account

Note: I have no more idea...

I redid the two previous tests and eliminated all users by creating only one new "d elfino"

I have now enabled the debug mode 3 and see what happens ....

testparm -v

Hi taetae,

taetae wrote:I redid the two previous tests and eliminated all users by creating only one new "d elfino"

I assume it is a typing error with "d elfino" instead of "delfino"

Note : samba config is right with "delfino"

Hi taetae,

With your last log, the issue is not the transfer but samba fails to find the location
Code: Select all
[2014/11/05 07:16:32, 3] smbd/trans2.c:call_trans2qfilepathinfo(3338)
call_trans2qfilepathinfo: SMB_VFS_STAT of giochi Wii/The Conduit 2/folder.gif failed (No such file or directory)
[2014/11/05 07:16:32, 3] smbd/error.c:unix_error_packet(56)
unix_error_packet: error string = No such file or directory
[2014/11/05 07:16:32, 3] smbd/error.c:error_packet_set(106)
  error packet at smbd/trans2.c(3339) cmd=50 (SMBtrans2) NT_STATUS_OBJECT_NAME_NOT_FOUND

As asking several time, I need to see the 2d log file : log.nmbd.(<=> netbios name)

Indeed, I think that you have an issue with your port 139.

To check that: when you browse the NAS, use its IP (\\x.x.x.x\sharename\...) instead of its name and try to make some transfers.
If it is ok then you must see if you don't have some firewall rules with this port (and also port 137!)

Another question: In what direction you did the transfer: NAS -> PC or PC -> NAS. What is it 'giochi Wii' ?

So that means that the samba server doesn't have enough permissions to find the files in your PC... and it is not a firmware issue at least for the last log.

See you firewall rules,...
