"NTFS read-only driver enabled"

Postby Fuddyduddy » Tue Aug 19, 2014 12:33 pm

Hello

I'm trying to set up a backup operation to back up the video files on my NS2 to the external usb hard drive I have connected to it, in 'Host' mode.

After having made the necessary selections and clicking on "Accept", I get this error:- "Backup command failed: NTFS read-only driver enabled". Sure enough, the usb hard drive is formatted as NTFS.

Does this mean that before I can use it to back up I must format it as FAT 32 (having first connected it to my PC then re-connected it to the NS2)? Or is there another, perhaps preferable, way?

Guidance would be much appreciated. Thanks.

In the disk setup menu you can enable the ntfs read/write driver.

Be aware thjat writing to ntfs disk will be slow, this is a driver issue. The one we use is an open source one. There are faster drivers around but those need a license and are kernel dependent.
