you don't need to find the ip of the 2big1 when using the fvdw-sl console.
Please explain more what you have done.

There is a way to do it manually but the console is far more easy.

hi, I tried running the console and this time I did not make any changes towards the IP.

These are my recent steps:

Select Install Firmware from console
Select UIMAGE-26394-2BIG1-22-standalone

no progress beyond waiting for U-Boot

my 2big is currently loaded with 1 1TB hardrive with no data or partitions.

(1) do not use a wireless connecting between pc and router (LAN)

(2) Did you switch off your 2big1 before stating the action to load the standalone kernel and only switch it on after you got the window waiting for u-boot ?

Thanks, yes I start the process with the 2big off and switch it on after I get the waiting for u-boot. I will make another attempt later and this time I will be wired instead of wireless.

I will make it a point to report results here regardless of the outcome.

no go, still stuck on waiting on uboot

I went as far as doing the following

- direct to 2big / IP for laptop set to static 192.168.1.1
- swap drive bay
- firewall off
- attempted with safemode with networking

Hi prettyUGLY,

Do you have several NIC cards set on your PC (especially for virtual host ?). Some users had this issue in this case and they solved it by de-activating them.

So try to keep only the main wire card before starting the fvdw-sl console.

still did not work for me,

Tried a different router with nothing but the NAS and the laptop wired to it. I am thinking that the uboot
is corrupted.

I am thinking that the uboot

this can only happen if you (or previous owner ?) has overwritten it.

Then you will need to use the manual method. On this moment I did not made yet a package to do that
