Installed nzbget 12.0 and tested.
Same issue. So no improvement.
Is it possible to go back to previous fw ?
This to show current version has an issue.
On previous fw versions nzbget worked for years...

it depends to which version you want to go back,in the course of time some changes are made in the structure of the nas database that are incompatibly with older versions.
To which version do you want to go back ? (this would also be helpful to determine what is causing the problem as then we need to look to the changes made since that version).

I guess you mean 15-0

to start with we could try to use the linux kernel of 15-0 (in 15-1 some changes were made to add support for wireless dongles, so not so likely but you never know)

Attached the kernel of the 15-0 firmware for nwsp2. You can load it using the the fvdw-sl console by choosing option load external kernel after putting the kernel in the tftp folder of the fvdw-sl console

You can also write it wit the dd command to /dev/sda6 and then reboot but that will overwrite the current kernel (that can be written back later of course)

Ok,
Loaded the Linux kernel. Admin console can't be accessed. Can't reboot the devices after loading the kernel.
When I reboot (by plugout the power) , I get the 15-1 kernel back??

After reboot, the admin console says:

Kernel: Linux 3.9.5 #199 PREEMPT Thu Jan 9 23:25:16 GMT+1 2014

This is the 15-0 kernel??

Running nzbget again for the night. Lets See...

Regards.

No, when your use this menu, it is just to test if the firmware runs well with this loaded kernel version.

After rebooting, you use again the standard kernel version (so vers 199 for 15-1).

So you must load the old kernel version (164) and try to use nzbget without rebooting to see if you still have your issue.

I installed nzbget 12.0 on one of my nwsp2 with 15-1 and it is running, let see what happens
memory usage just after start (what bother me is why the use of swap is still zero )
Code: Select all
root@nwsp2-3:/ # free
             total         used         free       shared      buffers
Mem:        251392       190640        60752            0        66476
-/+ buffers:             124164       127228
Swap:       514076            0       514076

ps 12-0 needs a new configuration file, I added a default one. To be installed in the etc folder of the addons folder in the fvdw share
It set the path were files are stored (nzbget share sub folder download and were to find the web gui file)
If you made other changes in the cconf file of 9.0 you will need to set those your self in this conf file.
There some changes apparently in the conf file of both versions

ps If you make a subfolder with name "dst"' in the "download" folder of the nzbget share you will get a nice log file with messages from nzbget
it will give aoutput like this
Code: Select all
Sun Mar 16 12:49:49 2014   INFO   nzbget 12.0 daemon-mode
Sun Mar 16 12:50:34 2014   WARNING   Request received on port 6789 from 192.168.1.44, but username or password invalid (:)
Sun Mar 16 12:56:52 2014   INFO   Stopping, please wait...
Sun Mar 16 12:56:52 2014   INFO   Deleting lock file
Sun Mar 16 12:56:54 2014   INFO   nzbget 12.0 daemon-mode

I also compiled "htop" (has some more tools to view system activity then top)
You need to put the file in /usr/bin and make it executable
