Ok,

I succeeded to connect in your ftp server but only with the active mode.

It's why net2ftp succeeds also to connect.

With the FTP log, I see that there is an issue with your public IP (WAN). Seems that the server doesn't know the right IP.

So I go to stop your server and restart it

I think understand what happens...may be a bug with the ftp server.

When I try to use the passive mode, my FTP client tries to use as passive port : 61477 and not in your passive range !!!!

But if you enable the ftpes server with port 21 (=> use another port for the ftp server), I can use the passive mode :scratch

When I use the site http://ftptest.net I get this ouput
Code: Select all
Command: SYST
Command: FEAT
Reply: 211-Features:
Reply: MDTM
Reply: UTF8
Reply: REST STREAM
Reply: LANG en-US*;fr-FR
Reply: SIZE
Command: PWD
Reply: 257 "/" is the current directory
Status: Current path is /
Command: TYPE I
Reply: 200 Type set to I
Command: PASV
Reply: 227 Entering Passive Mode (93,xx,xx,xx,240,39). <= note this line
Command: LIST
Error: Connection timed out

So your FTP server sends the message to use the port 61479 (= 240*256 +39) and 61479 is not in your passive range.

But strangely with the same config than yours, I don't have issue.

So could you post me your ftp conf file : /etc/proftpd.conf ? (on my pm)

I assume that you use windows...
- So download putty.exe here : http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html
- Install it
- run putty.exe

I assume that you use the default configuration of the SSH server
and in the main Putty configuration windows (session category) :
- enter the LAn IP of your NAS (192.168....)
- keep the port 22
- click on the button "Open"

Now you need to use the root login : login:'root' (without quotes) and password:'giveit2me' (without quotes)
So now you get a shell access on your NAS !

Do these commands to copy the file to the share fvdw:
Code: Select all
cp /etc/proftpd.conf /share/1000/fvdw
chmod a+w /share/1000/fvdw/proftpd.conf

Now you have a copy in the fvdw share!
