were do you get this message ? which ssh client do you use ?
When you cannot connect then this message is not from the nas but you ssh client and that means you pc or the client you use has a problem

I think you use a standard linux ssh client, or not?
If you use windows OS use the ssh client putty and everything will be fine

if I use putty it just says that the connection has been refused by the server...any suggestion?
EDIT:
the message it displays is:
"The server refused to allocate pty"

there is nothing changed regarding ssh server beween 14-0 and 15-0.

Which version did you use before.
And did you change the default settings of putty?

I also assume that you have set ssh server to use password login (via web interface fvdw-sl-15-0 ssh server)

ps you enable logging in Putty to see whats going on
This could be an authentication issue
be sure the settings of ssh in putty look like this.

ps 2 until today nobody reported a problem with ssh..did you made any changes yourself ?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

on the old version I installed some pakages and some applications myself, but they had nothing to do with ssh...is there a way to reinstall the firmware form scratch without formatting the whole HD? the console application you provided doesn't find my nas...

yes just use the firmware upgrade menu in the web interface to install fvdw-sl-15-0 (or 14-0) once more, it will install the firmware on a system partition and use that at next boot. reamark: Downgrading can be tricky as newer tags in the database might not be removed making the boot fail

ps which console application you mean, the fvdw-sl console or the fvdw-sl-assistant ?
The fvdw-sl-console will only find your nas if it is in the same subnet of your lan as your pc.
The fvdw-sl assistant will also only be able to find it when your pc and nas are in the same subnet +for the fvdw-sl-assistant the nas must be running fvdw-sl-15-0

Using the firmware upgrade menu didn't work for me, so I solved by formatting the HD and reinstalling the version 11.0, then upgrading to version 15.0 and now i can use ssh even from my linux ssh client... just a little off-topic: could you provied a guide on how to setup a compiler to compile programs for the devices? I managed to install gcc on the NAS, but a cross compiler would be faster!!

well at least your problem is solved. about the off topic yes i could make a guide but for various reasons I won't. One of of them is there will be too many support question coming and no control over stability of the firmware. maybe I change my mind in the future ;)
