What filename with its extension did you upload in the step 1 ?

sorry for not being able to give better support, I still have no internet connection at home.
The firber optic cable in our street is damaged.

Few remarks,
first do not use other language in the webinterface then english, or german or french or dutch.
The other ones are incomplete and some parts of the webinterface will not work properly (it is written int the release notes and help text)

second remark, you cannot use the webinterface upgrade even when using the lacie menu for upgrade. This is because the firmware you are trying to upload contains a kernel for the nwsp2 and not for 5big1.

How to upgrade to 14-0.
The best way to upgrade the firmware is using the fvdw-sl-console. That has an action to write firmware image to disk (to the partitions sda7, sda1 and sda2.) Read the help text in the help menu of the fvdw-sl console.
Of course you need to select the standalone kernel for the 5big1 and then follow the instructions and pretend you have a nwsp2.
Choose as image the file "xfvdw-sl-14-0-nwsp2-23dec2012.img" present in the tftp/nwsp2 subfolder of the fvdw-sl-console.
And when the installer ask to which partitons to write let it do it to sda7, sda1 and sda2

After the image writer has done this reboot the nas (reboot -f)

Ps use for the telnet client the ip 192.168.1.252 and try again after some time if it doesn't connect automatic. Booting the kernel on this 5big1 may take longer then we build in as waiting time for the telnet client.
Remember we are experimenting here.

ps2 I assume you have already written the 5big1 kernel to sda6 in previous things you have done. There is no need to repeat it.

:scratch It is not clear to me what you mean.
The procedure I described to upgrade the firmware in my last post is using the fvdw-sl console and telnet client

ps als be aware that still some fine tuning needs to be done in the firmware to get touble free support of the 5big1.
For instance using mutiple disk.
In the next release of the fvdw-sl firmware there will be a support for mutiple disk. For the moment manul adaptions are needed to the nas data base to add more then 1 disk.

But from the output you posted it looks that there is no real roadblocks to run fvdw-sl on the 5big1

I know that we are being tested ...

I said sure but that the startup Nas enable telnet? ... in console I get stuck on that passage

and the nos started I find no voice in the web interface that speaks the telnet

telnet is only available when you run the standalone kernel

When running the firmware there is no telnet client server running. One of the reasons is that it is unsecure.
Instead a ssh server is running that you can contact with an ssh client like Putty.

Whatis the status now of the firmware you are running on the 5big1. I am a little lost on what you have done and accomplished.
And thanks for support us to try to get the firmware running on the 5big1

then there is still some work to be done, the kernel panic when having more disks is strange. At what point does the kernel panic occur (dmesg or console output)

the upgrade from 11-0 to fvdw-sl-14-0 we can also do using the ssh sever, I will make a post this evening on how to do it.
username for ssh: root
default password: giveit2me
