Installing the images I have on md0 and md1 won't solve the problem as you have there the same data
The system hangs on the system loaded form md2, removing that will probably mean also all your settings will be lost and maybe more (your data) if the lacie firmware thinks it is a new system.

Whta we could try is deleting the capsule folder and then reboot. I *think* it is now finding the copsule folder and tries to complete the upgrade...but I am not sure if this will bring it to live again..what do you think ?

I think I'm tired and that you are.
So before making mistakes that are definitive, it is appropriate to go to sleep and resume tomorrow speech.
With a fresh mind we might have other ideas.
Thanks for the time.

before continuing can you check the contents of the folder "/shares/1" on md4 ?

Does it contain a folder with name "Update" ? and "recovery"
If so what is the content of this Update folder and recovery folder

Background capsules are normally installed at boot when found in this "Update" folder, if the incomplete capsule is still in there it might be the reason why completing boot fails and we may try to put there a capsule of an earlier version of the lacie firmware or just remove it to see if that restores operation.

Hello, it's been a long workday and just now I'm at home.
Obviously I had to turn off and on the NAS to use the console.
A first novelty is that this time I could turn off the NAS, directly from its on-off button, until yesterday I had to unplug the power cord.
Now I think I have to give some command to restore the situation of yesterday, please guide me again.

Start the stanalone kernel, assemble the raid arrays and mount them as explained earlier

Code: Select all
tftp -r mount.tar -l mount.tar -g ip-pc
tar -xvf mount.tar

replace ip-pc by actual ip of your pc
