I should try with all disks on place, because console/script/etc writes firmware on the righthand disk when they are all in place.

Code: Select all
fvdw1 disk index before get_sd_name = 0
device-name= sata_mv
fvdw2 disk index after get_sd_name = 0
fvdw3 prefix[0]=s prefix[1]=d
fvdw4 disk diskname= sda
sd 4:0:0:0: [sda] 1953525168 512-byte logical blocks: (1.00 TB/931 GiB)
sd 4:0:0:0: [sda] Write Protect is off
sd 4:0:0:0: [sda] Mode Sense: 00 3a 00 00
sd 4:0:0:0: [sda] Write cache: enabled, read cache: enabled, doesn't support DPO or FUA
 sda: sda1 sda2 sda3 sda4 < sda5 sda6 sda7 sda8 >
sd 4:0:0:0: [sda] Attached SCSI disk

the bus number in this case 4:0:0:0 is independent of the number of disk installed, what the kernel does is assigning a drive id (sda) to this bus number regardless how many disk are installed. The bus number is linked to each slot

lets try to mount sda7
Code: Select all
mkdir /sda7
mount /dev/sda7 /sda7

if it mount look to content of /sda7
Code: Select all
ls -al /sda7

also ok (except loading of the modules seems to have failed :hammerhead

Code: Select all
ls -al /lib/modules

I doubt but it could be that the kernel has gone corrupt in the the transfer process
md5sum UIMAGE-3142-5BIG1-1:
bf2e989e82b24259f18de13755091bba

I am not sure if the command md5sum is working on standalone kernel md5sum
Code: Select all
md5sum /sda1/UIMAGE-3142-5BIG1-1
