hi, finally, everything working!!!!
you were right, the lacie not being shown in the network was due to the group name, in my case WORKGROUP, and just after changing it, everything working!
now, time to enjoy your software!! thanks very much for it and for your support! for those that had my problem, remember that you have to plug in the HDD straight to the motherboard port, not through a usb port!!! (do not ask me why, but doing it this way, the fdisk reports 512kb sectors, and then your firmware works perfect!

galaberta wrote:Hi there,
I bought the Lacie NSP2 a month ago, and I did not manage to make the video streaming work on a tv sony bravia.
So, I decided to install this version 11-0 firmware to try if it works, as it has some additional media streamers.

The problem is that after following all the steps, the nas does not boot.... only blue and red
led lights blinking....

I guess I must have done something wrong... I think that the problem is my hard disk a seagate barracuda green 2TB, with the sectors size of 4096kb, and fdisk only recognises my disk as 4096, so either I "broke" something during the proccess or my disk only supports 4096 kb per sector???

I think that my problem (or my disk) is similar to Berny's question last 2 july 2012, but i think he never managed to make it work... (viewtopic.php?f=11&t=666)

This is what I get when I press fdisk /dev/sdb:

Disco /dev/sdb: 2000.4 GB, 2000398934016 bytes
255 cabezas, 63 sectores/pista, 30400 cilindros
Unidades = cilindros de 16065 * 4096 = 65802240 bytes
Tamaño de sector (lógico / físico): 4096 bytes / 4096 bytes
Tamaño E/S (mínimo/óptimo): 4096 bytes / 4096 bytes
Identificador del disco: 0x9b7e53f1

Dispositivo Inicio Comienzo Fin Bloques Id Sistema
/dev/sdb1 1 8 513056 83 Linux
/dev/sdb2 9 16 514080 83 Linux
/dev/sdb3 17 24 514080 82 Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/sdb4 25 30400 1951961760 5 Extendida
/dev/sdb5 25 40 1027136 83 Linux
/dev/sdb6 41 41 63236 83 Linux
/dev/sdb7 49 56 514080 83 Linux
/dev/sdb8 57 30400 1949904416 83 Linux

Please could anyone help me??? :please
Thanks a lot for your help!!!
Best regards

yes the reason of the blinking red led is that the boot loader could not recognize the disk.
It seems that some usb/sata interface have a problem to handle an advanced format disk. The solution is to connect it to a sata port of the mainboard of your pc.
However you could also try to use our fvdw-sl console and leave the disk in the nwsp2
