Yes.

Hm. My message should have at least 5 characters. So I could say 'Maybe'. But that's cruel. So let's say 'Positive'.

What does gdisk say about the partition table of /dev/sdb?

Just got an e-mail from Lacie support telling me how to re-install the OS "if data isn't important". Really? Every correspondence I had with them started with "I can't lose the data"! Really?!

Code: Select all
Command (? for help): p
Disk /dev/sdb: 1953525168 sectors, 931.5 GiB
Logical sector size: 512 bytes
Disk identifier (GUID): 5C7C3386-9367-3C4B-95F2-6B7403CA90CC
Partition table holds up to 128 entries
First usable sector is 34, last usable sector is 1953525134
Partitions will be aligned on 2048-sector boundaries
Total free space is 4050285 sectors (1.9 GiB)

Number  Start (sector)    End (sector)  Size       Code  Name
   2         4048896      1953523711   929.6 GiB   8300  Linux filesystem

Code: Select all
Command (? for help): p
Disk /dev/sdc: 1953525168 sectors, 931.5 GiB
Logical sector size: 512 bytes
Disk identifier (GUID): 5C7C3386-9367-3C4B-95F2-6B7403CA90CC

remember sdb2 was the problem in the beginning as well.

How do sdc2, sdd2 and sde2 come out of this process ?

ps you can use the tags [code] to post output from telnet, makes it easier to read

Okay, I'm confused. Here's b2 and c2 and they look odd to me:

Code: Select all
root@(none):/ # gdisk /dev/sdb2
GPT fdisk (gdisk) version 0.8.5

Partition table scan:
  MBR: not present
  BSD: not present
  APM: not present
  GPT: not present

Creating new GPT entries.

Command (? for help): p
Disk /dev/sdb2: 1949474816 sectors, 929.6 GiB
Logical sector size: 512 bytes
Disk identifier (GUID): 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000
Partition table holds up to 128 entries
First usable sector is 34, last usable sector is 1949474782
Partitions will be aligned on 2048-sector boundaries
Total free space is 1949474749 sectors (929.6 GiB)

Number  Start (sector)    End (sector)  Size       Code  Name

Command (? for help): q
root@(none):/ # gdisk /dev/sdc2
GPT fdisk (gdisk) version 0.8.5

Partition table scan:
  MBR: not present
  BSD: not present
  APM: not present
  GPT: not present

Creating new GPT entries.

Command (? for help): p
Disk /dev/sdc2: 1949474816 sectors, 929.6 GiB
Logical sector size: 512 bytes
Disk identifier (GUID): 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000

Partitions will be aligned on 2048-sector boundaries
Total free space is 1949474749 sectors (929.6 GiB)

Number  Start (sector)    End (sector)  Size       Code  Name
