Here are some speed measurements of the 5Big2. 26MB/sec up, and 62MB/sec down. I think you can expect a bit higher, as the tests are done on Lacie firmware, with software raid, while you are not using any raid.
BTW when using NFS or FTP instead of Samba (the default Windows filesharing) you can squeeze some more bytes. I suppose fvdw can tell if either of them is supported.

i've tryed with Windows Normal methdo, and then with Fast Copy (http://news.softpedia.com/newsImage/FastCopy-Review-2.png/) a third part software that i don't like so much.

but I always used Windows classic copy method in my daily operations. (i have Windows 8 Pro 64bit) and it have a beauty copy/past interface with graphic progress, instead Win7/vista/Xp (http://www.eightforums.com/attachments/f1/f11/14892d1358230871-refresh-reset-windows-8-without-installation-disk-copy-install-wim.png)

attached the new database for you 5big2

Unzip the archive and put the file in the shared folder "public"
Be sure the webinterface of the fvdw-sl firmware is not active
Access the nas with putty and enter on the Linux command line
Code: Select all
cp /share/1000/public/nas_conf_db.xml /rw_fs/etc/nas_conf_db.xml

After that open the web interface and see if you can see all disks

nas_conf_db-3C.zip
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
