There two ways to shutdown the nwsp2 :
1/web interface (shutdown/restart menu).
2/Power button of nwsp2 works as follow. Pressing and holding for more then 1 second and releasing before 5 second will cause a restart (reboot). Pressing and holding more then 5 seconds and then release it cause a shutdown.

yes this will cause problems, when the file is corrupt you can not use it, I will check the files Jocko posted

and no you can not use the file for nwsp1, it may make your nwsp2 non functional or at least not functioning properly !

the new files are online.

if the web interface is working with your nas with the nwsp1 firmware and you can use the firmware upgrade menu then probably you can you try to upgrade to 14-0 for nwsp2

If you have used nwsp1 files to prepare the disk then I advice to repeat the procedure as a wrong boot file is then used on sda7. But I think you have used the correct files for first install otherwise the kernel would not have run. Probably the mistake happeed with first upgrade. In that case no need for correcting sda7. Just install fvdw-sl-14-0 for nwsp2 using the webinterface

i have downloaded the new files got no problem to unzip them, but the fact that nwsp1 is running on my nwsp2 is not letting me upgrade via web as it differ in version , can u suggest what should i do?
Kindly please split the file as i think i must re install manually using this file fvdw-sl-11-0-nwsp2-HDD-install-package.zip from this link viewtopic.php?f=7&t=336
my main problem actually with the version am using is i cannot play mkv via my playstation 3 via twonky but with the previous lacie i was able,
does the new version 14 enable us to play mkv
thanks

the new version 14-0 contains twonky 7

to advise what to do next it is necessary to know which firmware you used as first install. It can not be that that was a nwsp1 version as then the kernel won't run as they need a different kernel.
