Shutting down

Shutting down

Postby prydeson » Wed Dec 03, 2025 10:11 am

My old Lacie 5Big doesn't shutdown anymore with fvdw-sl firmware. From the interface I select shutdown, then it starts a fan and doesn't stop ever. So I just "plug out" :-D the power. Is this common?

Hi

No it is not the expected behaviour... What firmware version do you have on your nas ?

fvdw-sl firmware version 18-3. fvdw-sl-console-6-18-3-26feb2024-32bits

It's working perfectly since 6 months. But I only had 4 disks installed. I rebuilt the RAID with 5 disks and had to reboot multiple times, so I realized this.

Is there any log which could help identify the issue?

OK

If you do not yet installed it, you have to install the roll-up patch for version 18-3 (here : https://plugout.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3773#p39925)

After installing and nas restarted, openning a shell window
Code: Select all
debugon
echo > /var/log/messages
Then try to shutdown the nas from the firmware web interface

if the nas do not stop, still from the shell window, do
Code: Select all
cat /var/log/messages
ps auxf

Post the output

Later to remove the debug mode, run the command
Code: Select all
debugoff
