Fail to get an IP from DHCP server after installing fvdw-sl

I also cannot believe that 4 hdd have same problem so lets focus on that something goes wrong when transferring the firmware file. How is your lan setup? (Pc to Nas)

And second question do you have a sata->usb adapter?
If you have that we can connect one of your hdd to your working 5big2 check file systems and install firmware manually

Oke put one of your hdd that you tried in the connector and connect it to the usb port of your working 5big2. It should be recognized as as disk sea.

Now connect via ssh and give on command line the command
Code: Select all
fdisk -l /dev/sea
mount

Use gdisk instead of fdisk if you have selected gpt partition table while using the fvdw-sl installer previously
And post results of both commands

Also we will need the info from which partition your working 5big2 is booting, to find it give this command to list files in lacie-boot folder
Code: Select all
ls /lacie-boot

This should give as output no files, or sda1boot or sda2boot.

Ok, the only one mode for using ssh is by your console and “install firmware...” if i open ssh normally i can’t reach the nas.
So i perform this command After console “install firmware etc” ok?

I don't understand, your working nas should by accesible via ssh by using a client like putty.
Did you try that ? Port number to use is 22

Please read my post more carefully, you must connect the sata->usb to usb port of your old 5big2 and connect with ssh to your old 5big2, thats already running as you mentioned. In the webinterface you can see the ip.

We are going to write with your old 5big2 to a disk in the sata>usb interface.
