There the answers are already given on the above questions. A quick check learned that the load external command needs modification as the current one in the console loads the kernel on a wrong position in RAM. I will do some rereading to refresh my memory and come back to you. Then we upload the external kernel manually using uboot console

oke , failure is that the console loads the kernel at 0x800000 and overwrites uboot, indeed we should use 0x2000000 for this device

To load an extra kernel start uboot console at marvel prompt give command

(n= sequence number)
Of course tftp server of the console must be running
ps probably the command setenv is not required as you already have changed that command and saved it when installing the firmware, to check if it set correctly give command

If kernel fails we could try to use as bootargs

Uf!!! I hope so much work was worth it.
I do not say it for anything bad, but with Kernel # 5 the led does not work.
The others kernels tried to determine why the NAS did not boot with # 5.
With the boot from the console all the kernels run the nas correctly.

In kernel 6 and 7 no trace of the leds-ns2l driver only in kernel 5 (as expected) I see this line

So it tries to load a driver but fails error 22 means an invalid value is used (EINVAL).

There is only one position were EINVAL is returned, when no platform data is found or platform data is wrong
So it seems we miss the required platform data :scratch

I would have expected a line before ledtrig-cpu containing leds-ns2l like on kernel 5 :scratch

Closer look required at this driver..

When running kernel #8
Can you check if you see a platform devices a folder with name "leds-ns2l" in /sys/devices/platform and post what is in there
