great to hear you got t sorted Bozo

about midnight commander, nice feature. But dit you ever looked at WinSCP, that a program running under windows and accesses the NAS via SSH and has similar features like commander. I use it all the time, its very convenient.

One remark about optware, replacing libraries or upgrading packages can make some features not working properly anymore as some binaries are dependent on libs I stored that. That is because of the compiler structure I use, the tool chain has an /opt library as a result some binaries need specific libraries present in that folder. If you upgrade such a specific library then the binaries dependent on it must be recompiled again. Its always a good idea to make a backup of that folder if you make any change, so you can restore a working situation

Hi fvdw,

I thought about it myself and I already made backups (opt-20120202.tgz), but I have not written here so as not to occupy the space on forum.
In addition, if something not work ........ you know me ..... I reinstalled.

Moreover, "wget" and "p910nd" I have installed it exactly as we discussed on the forum and not from Optware.
From Optware I installed only Midnight Commander.

I used WinSCP some time ago, but only for FTP function. I never thought to use it for ssh, but I will try now.
No Midnight Commander I do not use it much, but I installed it, just in case, as a last resort.
I prefer to use more the command line, because I want to learn as quickly, as many Linux commands.

Finally I would like to ask you a question:
It is possible for me to change the user name in web interface? That will be all "root" as the ssh?
There is not something important, but, I said to ask you.
