Lacie Cloudbox white invisible at my TV and Pc

Hello to all,
am new to the forum and your precious I am also very ignorant on Linux (and more ... :dontknow ).

I had various problems to CloudBox 3TB (white) I think because of the hard disk and try again I also ruined the firmware.
Then I found your software brilliant (very very complete) and after a few days I was able to install Fvdw 16 and to revive the CloudBox trying it with a 320 GB HD.
I connect to it with your browser and then my home network I see that works great ... BUT ... my TV (Sony Bravia) does not see it, even my PC in the view of my network devices are nonexistent .

Not knowing your software and Tenedos in mind the ease with which the original software LaCie made me appear Nas, my question is: what is wrong in the settings? Samba is enabled, I enabled FTP. are not at all Linux systems expert ... What do I need to see the CloudBox on my network? :please

How do I upload the files now in the shared folder of the NAS?
Surely they are banal for you, but trying to enable all of the servers and the Mediaserver I have not dug a spider hole ....

Thanks in advance, ciao.

Can you log in via a browser?

If yes, do so! You can now configure your cloudbox. You need user(s), shares and your TV needs DLNA. First set up user(s), then shares and then you can assign those shares to a DLNA server.
The DLNA server can be set up under "Media server". I recommend "minidlna" for the beginning!

If you need further help, check out the "?" symbol on the right hand side. It's extremely useful!

Thx Benasian good tips :thumbup
In addition to that.
If you use a pc running windows then your windows pc an nas must be in the same workgroup. You can set the work group name in the LAN setup page of the webinterface. Rebooting of the nas and winfows pc after setting it to the same workgroup name as used by your windows pc is a good idea as well to make it visible and to access the samba shares you also can use in windows explorer (not internet explorer) an addres like
Code: Select all
\\nas-ip
In which you need to replace nas-ip by the actual ip address of you nas. Also this should do it (unless you changed the nas default name
Code: Select all
\\fvdw-sl-base

Your bravia TV will not detect samba, you must aktivate a mediaserver like Twonky or minidlna to make it appear as mentioned by Benasian. If your Bravia TV is very old it might not be in the compatible device list of these servers. But that would be very unlikely and still your TV must be able to see these servers assuming it has the capability to stream from dlna mediaservers

Hello, very thank for the support !!!

I apologize for the misunderstanding, but actually, as rightly said FVDW not see the nas the Explorer, while I connect easily with the browser (Opera) and I tried to enable all protocols and the media server, but without success.
I access easily through the browser to the CloudBox, I also thought that the TV needed to DLNA and I activated the mediaservers minidlna, Twonky but without the smart TV could see nothing.
The smart TV has about one year and with the original firmware Lacie has always seen as a rocket icon LaCie and its folders (video, photo, etc) without any problem.

Use 8 win, win 7 etc., and catella "displays PCs and network devices" the CloudBox was always present, it was enough to click and the internal folders were already prnte for use.
Now I have the Minidlna icon, but when I click open a web page status.
I activated a "Group Home" but it does not seem anything has changed. :dontknow

PS:.. This is not the "fvdw / shared" folder to install the patches listed by Jocko, but also there was how do I put in the file?

Small update: I like I said Fvdw with Explorer now I see two folders, Minidlna and Public ... thanks. Hello..
Thank Benasian for the support, ciao.

:hail :hail :hail I realized that I must FIRST well translate English into Italian and then despair !!! :doh Then, thanks to the instructions of the great Fvdw e Benaslan and now can clearly see the icon on the Minidlna "Connected Devices" my sony. :-D
The mistake I made is that I had not removed the server that over time the tv had stored, including the CloudBox itself (in addition to Minix, PC etc ..).
So in the default state of television, network, home network setup, server settings vision, in view setting Minidlna was present but could not play it. I eleiminato inactive server, and voila, I can finally go back to "see" the server.
I have hoped these errors can be of help to others who, like me, you are just closer to fvdw world. :applause :applause :applause

Thank you and ciao.
